Every home regardless of how huge or small has a need for dinette sets in the kitchen dining room area. Cheap dinette sets are becoming quite popular considering the reluctance of people to spend large sums of money in home furnishings in an economy that is not doing so well. Regardless of whether you opt in for a cheap dinette set or a quite expensive dinette set, one of the things to keep in mind is to get a feel for proper proportioning of your dinette sets in comparison with the area that is available for the placement, so that the dinette set does not become a traffic obstacle around which people need to walk around to avoid bumping into it and accidentally spilling things over or even getting hurt.

The dinette set generally should not occupy more than sixty percent of any available area of placement. This may not be a problem for most homes, but in those cases where space is a premium, a couple of options are available. Most cheap dinette sets come in a rectangular design. This is because rectangular table designs offer the cheapest manufacturing method as opposed to round or oblong table designs. This being the case, you might want to change the orientation of th dinette table, either placing the longer dimension one way or the other. In such cases, even though the mathematical occupation of area may be the same, the practical obstacle to moving around may be more appealing.

Most dinette sets come with four chairs. Always keep the chairs pushed close to the table when not being used. This will provide additional obstacle free space. If your dinette set came with six chairs, and your family has only four members, then put the remaining two chairs in a different area of the kitchen or some other room and bring it over to the dinette area only when you have the need for them by way of social parties and the like.

Various sizes of cheap dinette sets are available from retailers everywhere and so if you are buying a new dinette set, always take measurements of the area where it will be placed and get dimensions that do not overpower the kitchen dining area.
