Everyone looks for a conversation piece when furnishing and decorating their homes. Everything from fancy curtains to fancy carpets to one of a kind figurines and such are sought after to form a conversation piece especially during social gatherings and family get togethers. But how can a dinette set become a conversation piece. I always thought a cheap dinette set with a reasonable covering would suffice the purpose that a dinette set is supposed to perform, namely a place to sit and chat and eat and dine. Little did I realize how much of a conversation piece a dinette set could become when I visited the home of our family friends last week.

Lee and Joanne had purchased their brand new home two years ago and we had visited them a handful of times since. They had been slowly decorating their new home. The last few times we saw them, they had simply moved their old cheap dinette set from their old home to their current one. Nothing fancy, it was just an old cheap round dinette set table with four chairs with some cushions. We used to sit around their cheap old dinette set and chat for hours about generally nothing. Not this time. This time around they had purchased fancy made wrought iron dinette set. This wrought iron dinette set was not simply purchased from a store. They had a local artist make some custom changes to their new wrought iron dinette set.

The wrought iron dinette set was forty eight inches long with six chairs. The chairs had cushions with tie wraps at the ends. The wrought iron dinette set was classically painted black with small dots of orange paint inconspicuously strewn around. The wrought iron structure seemed quite sturdy with a fancy laced table top covering. The artisan had custom made some placeholders that matched the design of the wrought iron dinette set table and chairs. The bottoms of the table and the chairs had rubber coverings also black in color to save their hardwood flooring as the chairs would be pulled and pushed. The entire conversation during the first half of the evening circled around their new dinette set along with pictures of the artist that converted it into a one of a kind wrought iron dinette set.

All in all this was such a beautiful wrought iron dinette set that they had patiently waited and then gotten finally. It was so artistic, I did not have the heart to ask them how much it cost.
